Summer Colloquia 2004

The ASP summer colloquia features a series of lectures on a topic selected because it is an emerging area of research or because it otherwise seems to merit special attention. The lectures are presented at the level of an advanced graduate student course, and most of the attendees are graduate students who are supported to spend about two weeks at NCAR to participate in the colloquium. These students apply for acceptance in response to an announcement mailed early in the calendar year.

The lecturers are invited participants selected for their expertise in the area and are often drawn from universities and from NCAR. There may be around 10 lecturers for a typical colloquium and about 30 participants. (The lectures are also normally open to others, when space permits, and some NCAR scientists and visitors attend.)

In 2004 there will be two colloquia, below are links to the announcements.
